ICBC ATM Transaction Amount in the First Half Year Exceeded RMB 200 Billion

The reporter is informed from the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) that in the first half of this year, ICBC's ATM transaction amount exceeded RMB 200 billion and reached RMB 217.7 billion, showing an increase of RMB 59.5 billion and increase rate of 37.6%. In the above amount, withdrawal transaction amount is RMB 172.8 billion, accounting to 79.4% of the total amount. ATM has become an important channel for customers to handle cash deposit and withdrawal business.

It is told that, since this year, ICBC has conducted unified deployment and implemented specific measures as to development, layout, assessment and risk control of ATM services. The ATM services develop very fast and all the business indicators are on the best levels in history. In the first half of this year, ICBC handled as many as 656,740,000 ATM transactions of various kinds, showing an increase of 154,110,000 and increase rate of 30.7% compared to that of last year. In the above figure, there are 313,010,000 settlement type transactions, accounting for 47.7% of all the transactions, and there are 294,000,000 ATM withdrawal transactions, accounting for 44.8% of all the transactions.

At the same time, ICBC's ATM management level improves further too. Under the situation that the number of ATMs in operation increases, average transaction indicators of unit machine increase considerably, and in the first half of this year, it hit a record high by 242 transactions per day per ATM on average in a month, and the average transaction volume per day per ATM in the first half of this year is 231 transactions, and the average transaction amount per day per ATM in the first half of this year is as high as RMB 73,000, according to the internal statistics.

ICBC's press spokesperson said that increasing ATM transaction volume shunts a lot of on-counter business, which fully shows that service of ICBC are develop toward the orientation of diversification. In recent years, ICBC has been widening marketing . While optimizing service network resources allocation and improving entity network’s service efficiency and benefits, ICBC exerts great efforts in developing fast, convenient and individualized virtual banking products. At present, according to the statistics, ICBC's equipage includes 18,000 automatic teller machines (ATM), 80,000 POSs, not to mention the network banking, telephone banking, mobile phone banking and Peony Credit Card, all of which form a complete three-dimensional electronic banking service system, making customers be able to handle almost all banking matters without the trouble of going to a real ICBC's office. The quality of ICBC's personal banking is upgraded.
