ICBC Internet Banking Wins Two Global Finance Awards

ICBC Internet Banking, proved its valor again, snapped the two awards of "Best Consumer Internet Bank in China" and "Best Investment Management Corporate/Institutional Internet Bank in Asia" in the recent announcement by 2006 US Global Finance Review on Internet Banking around the world. Namely, ICBC Consumer Internet Banking - "Banking@Home" won the crown of "2006 Best Consumer Internet Bank in China" for the fourth time in a row since 2003, while ICBC Corporate Banking - "ICBC e-Fortune Link" was the "Best Investment Management Corporate/Institutional Internet Bank in Asia", first time ever that a domestic commercial bank earned the title.

US Global Finance, a financial and economic magazine being known internationally and inside the industry as well, every year invites three independent specialists and world-renowned financial insiders to make a review on all Internet banks around the globe. The review aims to name the best bank with the most developed Internet banking. Insiders believed that ICBC Internet Banking, being sat on the top of the league tables several times in such a world authoritative magazine, the two awards this time round signified that it is staying ahead globally in view of its fast development over the past several years.

According to ICBC person-in-charge, ICBC Personal Internet Banking - "Banking@Home" is a collection of services in banking, investment, personal finance for customers including Account Enquiry, Transfer, 7×24 Remittances, Bill Payment, Online Forex, Online Securities, Online Insurance, Online Gold, Online Futures and Online Payment, etc. Currently, "Banking@Home" is the most powerful personal Internet banking in China. ICBC Corporate Banking - "ICBC e-Fortune Link" is even the first to launch a series of leading-edge e-cash management services and products for corporates, such as Group Finance, Collection, Payment, e-Commerce (B2C/B2B), Payroll Payment, Online L/C, Bank-Enterprise Interlink. "ICBC e-Fortune Link" is a comprehensive online corporate banking services system with information, settlement, management and investment all in one. Meanwhile, ICBC joined hands with many famous IT companies such as Microsoft to launch China first patented hardware digital certificate based on smart IC - "USB-Shield". In August this year, ICBC launched another new E-banking security product using dynamic password authentication - "E-banking Code Card". The card is easy to use, low-price, very suitable for general Internet Banking customers with low demand on payment limit.

In recent years, ICBC Internet Banking has enjoyed a tremendous growth. By the end of Sept. 2006, number of ICBC "Banking@Home" customers broke through 21 million to 21.95 million, where 1.1 million of them were customers with "USB-Shield". "ICBC e-Fortune Link" Corporate Internet Banking had more than 500,000 customers, a number that put ICBC the first place in market share among all domestic banks. From January to September this year, turnover of ICBC Internet Banking was a record of RMB 27.6 trillion. Till the end of September, ICBC had 28.5% of business coming through e-channel. E-Banking services already became one of the major sources of ICBC business.

Now, ICBC Corporate Internet Banking, a comprehensive, all-in-one funds management platform well-received by customers, encompassing ten major services such as account management across regions in home and foreign currencies, collection and payment, bills, group finance and investment finance. And according to a survey by China Finance Certification Center, 52.4% of Internet Banking customers are willing to choose "Banking@Home" and as high as 69.9% of potential Internet Banking customers show an interest in using "Banking@Home". Today, number of "Banking@Home" customers has already over 21 million. The award that ICBC Personal Internet Banking - "Banking@Home" won this time was the fourth after it was named as "Best Customer Internet Bank in China" in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
