ICBC Wins Again the Crown of "China Internet Bank Review"

Recently, in the second "China Internet Bank Review" organized by Hexun.com, a China reputed economic and financial website, ICBC Internet Banking ran ahead of all others in terms of "Popularity", "Platform" and "Services" with a top score of 209.92. This was also the second time that ICBC won the title.

Being a third party organization for the first time, Hexun.com held the "China Internet Bank Review" in February last year which was overwhelmingly received from all participants. In subsequent year, Hexun.com ran the Review again with further optimization of the indexes based on the results from the previous year. New indexes gathered opinions and recommendations from numerous organizations and industry experts. Personal Internet Banking of 16 commercial banks in China were evaluated against "Popularity", "Platform" and "Services" from a much better user's perspective. Meanwhile, results of this year's Review were much authoritative and objective as evaluation data were directly extracted from applicant banks' websites by Hexun.com, a third party organization.

Industry experts believed that second winning by ICBC further demonstrates its leading position of Internet Banking Services in China.

ICBC Internet Banking enjoyed a fast growth since its launch in 2000. By the end of 2006, ICBC has secured 23.25 million of Personal Internet Banking customers and 600,000 Corporate Internet Banking customers. ICBC business turnover channeled from e-Banking was a staggering RMB 45 trillion in 2006, and the Daily Page View of ICBC portal (www.icbc.com.cn) has been soared from 2.36 million in 2005 to 9.82 million in 2006, an increase of nearly threefold. Internet Banking is now the main platform for ICBC to deliver banking services to customers.

An ICBC Department Staff expressed that result of the Review was a clear indication of the recognition that ICBC Internet Banking has attained among all walks of life. In the years ahead, ICBC will spent major efforts in pushing forward the E-banking services with more innovative products, faster and more convenient services to customers, richer and much-tailored E-banking products so that companies, organizations, individual and families can all enjoy modern, high-quality E-banking services.

"Banking@Home" is ICBC brand of Personal Internet Banking, the No.1 brand of Personal Internet Banking in China built in recent years. In a 2005 market survey conducted by iResearch Consulting Group on Internet Banking in China, brand recognition of "Banking@Home" went up to 53.8%. Result from another survey by China Finance Certification Center showed that 52.4% of existing Internet Banking users are willing to choose "Banking@Home" and as high as 69.9% of potential Internet Banking users show an interest in using "Banking@Home".
